Why plant shops stock it
Variegated Rhaphidophora are rare in the trade, and this one grows straight up, so the cream and green leaves stack neatly along a pole. Every leaf carries a different pattern.
Variegated plants grow more slowly than green ones and need good light to keep their colour.

How we pack it
Plants are cleaned, treated against pests at the quarantine office and packed bare-root in sphagnum moss, or in tissue for countries that do not accept moss, inside ventilated boxes.
Care after arrival
- Potting: pot it within a day of arrival in a light, well-draining aroid mix and keep it slightly moist, not wet, for the first two weeks.
- Light: bright, indirect light keeps the variegation; avoid direct sun.
- Water: water when the top 2–3 cm of the mix is dry. Soggy soil causes root rot.
- Support: a moss pole or plank lets it climb and size up its leaves.
- Pets: like most aroids, the sap contains calcium oxalate and irritates pets if chewed. Keep it out of reach of cats and dogs.
