Why plant shops stock it

Piper porphyrophyllum works both in hanging baskets and in pots, which gives shops two ways to display it. Small quantities ship from stock when available; for wholesale quantities we grow to order, which usually takes 2–3 months.

Ordering for your shop

  • Wholesale quantities: grown to order, usually 2–3 months.
  • Availability: currently out of stock. Join the waitlist on this page or email [email protected] and we will let you know when it is ready.
  • Wholesale price: 25% below the catalog price when you order 20 Piper porphyrophyllum, or 100 plants in total with at least 4 of each species.
  • Mixed orders: combine it with other Piper species and anything else in the wholesale catalog.
  • Lead time: export documents take 7–14 business days. Delivery then takes 2–3 days to Singapore and about a week to the United States or Europe by DHL Express.
  • Import permit: every US order needs a USDA import permit (PPQ 587). Read how to import plants from Indonesia for other countries, and our guide to the phytosanitary certificate.
  • Payment: Wise or bank transfer after we confirm availability.
  • Arrival guarantee: plants that arrive dead are replaced once, shipped with your next order. Report within 48 hours with an unboxing video and photos.

How we pack it

Plants are cleaned, treated against pests at the quarantine office and packed bare-root in sphagnum moss, or in tissue for countries that do not accept moss, inside ventilated boxes.

Care after arrival

  • Potting: pot it within a day of arrival in a light, well-draining aroid mix and keep it slightly moist, not wet, for the first two weeks.
  • Light: bright, indirect light. Direct sun fades the colour and can scorch the leaves.
  • Water: water when the top 2–3 cm of the mix is dry. Soggy soil causes root rot.
  • Humidity and warmth: 60% humidity or more and temperatures above 18 °C (65 °F).
  • Display: let it trail from a basket or give it a short support.
