Hoya imbricata is an epiphyte that takes nutrients from rain, air and leaf litter rather than from its host tree. Mounted on a board or bark, it makes a striking display piece. Firm leaves show a healthy plant; soft leaves mean it needs water.

How we pack it
Plants are cleaned, treated against pests at the quarantine office and packed bare-root in sphagnum moss, or in tissue for countries that do not accept moss, inside ventilated boxes.

- Mounting: attach it to a cork or wooden board, or let it climb a bark-covered support.
- Light: bright, indirect light.
- Water: water or mist when the roots and leaves begin to soften.
- Humidity: high humidity keeps it growing steadily.
