About these seeds
Cempedak is a close relative of jackfruit with smaller, strongly aromatic fruit. The seed is short-lived and must be sown fresh. Seedlings vary from the parent tree, so growers raise them as rootstock for grafting or as seedling trees.
Ordering seeds
- Price: the catalog price is for one pack of 20 seeds. For larger quantities or several species, send your list for a quote.
- Availability: fresh seed follows the harvest season. We confirm the batch and harvest date before you pay.
- Mixed orders: combine it with other fruit seeds, grafted fruit plants and anything else in the wholesale catalog.
- Lead time: export documents take 7–14 business days, and seeds are packed as close to dispatch as possible. Delivery then takes 2–3 days to Singapore and about a week to the United States or Europe by DHL Express.
- Import rules: seeds for planting need a phytosanitary certificate in most countries, and every US order needs a USDA import permit (PPQ 587). Some countries restrict particular species. Check our import permit guide and send your country first; we confirm what can be exported before you pay.
- Payment: Wise or bank transfer after we confirm availability.
How we pack it
Seeds are cleaned of fruit pulp, checked, and packed in slightly moist medium or breathable bags so they neither dry out nor rot in transit. Large seeds are packed individually.
Sowing after arrival
- On arrival: unpack the seeds the same day and sow them within a few days. Do not let them dry out.
- Sowing: sow on its side, half buried, in a moist, free-draining mix; seedlings usually emerge within two to three weeks.
- Warmth: keep the seed tray warm, ideally 25–32 °C (77–90 °F), in bright shade.
- Moisture: keep the mix evenly moist but not wet; soggy mix rots large seeds.
