About the Plant

Labisia Turtle Back earns its name from its distinctive leaf texture that mimics the ridged, geometric pattern of a turtle’s shell. Native to the humid forest floor, this plant thrives in shaded, moisture-rich environments. Its leaves are thick, slightly velvety, and compact—perfect for terrariums or shaded indoor spots.

This plant’s slow-growing nature and manageable size make it ideal for enclosed environments like glass terrariums or small-space tropical gardens. It’s an excellent humidity-loving plant for enthusiasts looking to diversify their collection with something unique and low-light tolerant.

Care Guide

To help your Labisia Turtle Back thrive:

Light: Low to medium indirect light; avoid direct sunlight
Water: Keep soil consistently moist, but not soggy
Soil: Use a rich, well-draining mix (peat-based with moss or coco fiber)
Humidity: Prefers high humidity (70% or more)
Fertilizer: Use a diluted balanced fertilizer once every 4–6 weeks
Notes: Ideal for terrariums or closed setups with stable moisture
