It was discovered in the shaded depths of the forest at first. As the Licuala Mapu grows older, its stem becomes slimmer and can reach a height of nearly 3 meters. Shape, characteristics, and color The Licuala Mapu has fan-shaped leaves that resemble open hands. The surface of the leaves is covered in green or yellow spots. Because of its unusual appearance, this small palm is often referred to as the “heavenly palm.” It has semicircular leaves that are segmented at the base and have thin spines. The leaf tips are square, with serrated edges and parallel veins. The plant can grow to a height of 2-3 meters in the wild. As the plant grows, the leaves can form a complete circle. The number of yellow spots on the plant grows as it matures. Licuala Mapu has a long growth period and prefers to live alone.
