Alocasia is a tuberous perennial flowering plant from the Araceae family, and there are over 70 species of Alocasia. Alocasia has wide leaves that look like elephant ear, that’s why it is often called as “elephant ear” plant. Initially, this plant grows in forests as wild plants. But increasingly becomes popular as tropical houseplants.
Alocasia has better growth if it’s kept in a greenhouse, although it’s typically grown as a pot plant. It does not have a high tolerance of low light, and prefer bright filtered light. You can water them frequently without letting it sit in wet. Alocasia is tolerant of high humidity.
